My YouTube Channel Was Hacked!

The birds chirped to the morning sun rays as I woke up, thanked God for another day, and realized I no longer had access to my g-mail account.

I knew something wasn’t right when I saw that I was logged out of the gmail app on my phone. The app normally kept me logged in, but no biggie, so I thought. I entered my login information but that was unsuccessful. I then assumed maybe I was just typing in the information incorrectly but that hope dwindled, failed password attempt after failed password attempt. Next, I opted to reset my password but I was alerted that my reset password settings were changed ‘6 hours ago’ by a user with the alias ‘Nicholas Joel.’ My account had been hacked and I was completely locked out. And in complete shock.

Plan B.

I called Google headquarters. They can fix it right? I was transferred over and over again and spoke with three associates who did absolutely nothing for me. They heard my story and pretty much said they couldn’t help. I found it to be very comedic how Google wants you to trust them with your business but as soon as something goes wrong there’s nothing they can do about it. Everything attached to my business Google account is gone- e-mail, contacts, drive, and YouTube. All of the work I put into my files was down the drain and all Google did was shrug their shoulders. It doesn’t sound very legal but that’s a different story.

I spent most of the day crying, sending messages to google, praying, begging and pleading but nothing changed. I was devastated and temporarily felt like giving up on at least YouTube. I sulked most of the day but after some time I decided I had to take this as a learning opportunity. As a business owner  this was indeed a lesson learned. So I sucked it up and created account and YouTube channel. I beefed up my security and added backup mechanisms just in case this were to ever happen again.

I’m still fighting to regain access to my old channel because I put a lot of time into it, but at the same time I also feel the need to move on and use this as motivation. Although my old channel was growing, it wasn’t where I wanted it to be as far as my subscriber count and the content I planned to share with you. Gratefully, my old channel is public so I spent a few hours screen-recording what I could and uploading it to my new channel. From here I’m going to take it to the next level.

I’ve been pretty quiet on social media (and in real life) because I’ve been working on SO MUCH behind the scenes. There’s a lot to come for VBV but for those who really know me, you know I don’t like to share things too early. However, everything I’ve been working on is being documented and I plan to give you a sneak peak in my NEXT VIDEO!

So if you haven’t already please subscribe to my NEW YouTube channel, re-watch some videos, and re-comment! <3. Your watch time, video likes and comments really help my new channel. It lets YouTube know that you care about my content so if you have the time please show my new channel some love. Here’s the link:

As of now I have 1 subscriber but w hat the devil meant for bad, God will turn around and use for good. Thank you again for your support!

With love,

Veronica
