I know first hand what it feels like to be a book judged by its cover, but whether I’m wearing heels or a moo-moo, I love God the same.
I know what you’re going to say. ‘The Bible says be modest.’ Very true. But what is modesty? I always wondered where people got the idea that to be modest meant to be nun-like. Unlike many others, I don’t believe that being modest means to disassociate from feminine things that make us feel good as women like makeup and fashion. Modest doesn’t mean boring. It’s means to be humble and not excessive or vein, but somewhere down the line modesty got twisted into something else.
If you’ve read up on the virtuous woman then you understand what I mean when I say she didn’t slack when it came to her outward appearance. She was the ‘influencer’ of her time but she kept it classy. She didn’t put those things before her work, family, or relationship with God. Again, balance. Proverbs 31:22 “She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.” (Read more in my post who is the virtuous woman?) Even Esther went through months of pampering her outer appearance before she presented herself before the King. We are not a group of bland women with no flavor.
Thats what inspired me to start Virtuous by Veronica Boutique (www.vbvboutique.com). There’s room for godly women in the beauty and fashion industry. VBV is where faith meets fashion. It’s for the woman who believes she can be modest and fashionable at the same time. I’m excited to create a community and safe space for women who understand that you can be fly and love God too🙏🏾.
I recently uploaded a YouTube video that includes a try-on haul of some of the items I’ll have available this fall. I pray you’ll enjoy and stay tuned for the launch date! https://youtu.be/i92xcfVd9Nc
